Former Iowa State Cyclones senior guard Caleb Grill has announced that he has transferred to the Missouri Tigers for his final season. Near the end of this past college basketball season Grill was dismissed from the Iowa State program for “failure to meet the program’s expectations”. After that, he announced his intention to still play his fifth season of college basketball and began looking for his next program. He is able to play a fifth season thanks to the extra year of eligibility that was granted to players due to the impact the Coronavirus had on the 2020-21 college basketball season.

This season with the Iowa State Cyclones, Caleb Grill averaged 9.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 39.3 percent and a three-point percentage of 36.8 percent. Missouri is a rebuilding program that had a phenomenal season this past year. They hope to build on that success and experienced depth like Grill could be vital in that goal. For the upcoming fifth-year senior, it could be his final season playing organized basketball. That being said, with the right season, he could gain some traction as a pro basketball prospect in an overseas league somewhere.
