Last month, Buddy dropped off “Trouble On Central” and this month, he’s back with another single. “Hey, Up There” featuring Ty Dolla $ign is a bouncy record that discusses the doubts and confidence that are coupled with being an up and coming artist. Buddy opens up the record by rapping, “Hey, up there! I’m on my way up. Tell the radio to play us! I blame it on the place I grew up. I hit the landmine and I blew up.”
Later on, Buddy raps, “I’ve been on my job for way too long. Damn, right. What did I do wrong? There isn’t anyway that I would change up. Everybody had better pay up.” Ty Dolla $ign comes in toward the middle and says, “I’m in the elevator. I’m on my way up to the penthouse. There’s a bad b*tch with her feet up. Dolla needs that new Bentley truck.”
The release of the single also comes with a new video from the California native. Shot in Buddy’s hometown of Compton, California, the video takes fans into the sky. The video features dope shots of Buddy flying a helicopter and rapping from inside the Compton-Woodley Airport. We also get a few shots of Ty Dolla $ign on the runway of the airport. Check out the video and single above.
