The Brooklyn Nets are a playoff team and will now reportedly have a superstar player in tow once free agency opens. Kyrie Irving intends to sign with the Nets on June 30th to a 4-year $141 million deal according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

As a result of getting Irving, Brooklyn also intends to move on from D’Angelo Russell. Wojnarowski says the Nets could renounce Russell and make him a free agent, which has always been a possibility. However, Brooklyn reportedly is open to finding the right destination for Russell through a sign-and-trade if the two sides come to an agreement.

Nets will be willing to work with Russell and his reps on ways to get him to a team of his choice, including sign-and-trade scenarios, league sources tell ESPN. If Russell and Nets found a sign-and-trade deal that works for both, obviously, there's no need to renounce his rights.
