The Trevor Siemian era in Denver has officially begun. Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak announced that the defending Super Bowl champions will be rolling with an unproven seventh round pick as their starting quarterback to begin their title defense. The Broncos went from a plethora of riches just one year ago with Peyton Manning at the helm and a young stud in Brock Osweiler as their backup to a man who has played one NFL game.
Peyton Manning retired after the Broncos won the Super Bowl and Brock Osweiler elected to join the Houston Texans after the Broncos didn’t offer him what he liked for a new contract.
The Broncos brought in Mark Sanchez to be a veteran starter while the team planned for the future but he hasn’t worked out to this point. Now the team is looking to move him. So when option A and B both fall through, that’s when you have to turn to your last option. Insert Trevor Siemian.

Trevor Siemian will start at quarterback for the Denver Broncos in the Sept. 8 season opener against the Carolina Panthers, coach Gary Kubiak announced in a team meeting Monday morning.
Kubiak made the announcement just before the players broke off into position-group meetings.
Siemian has no legit NFL experience to speak of and his is a huge unknown for the Broncos. The good thing for him is they have a top flight receiver in Demaryius Thomas who can help him along and a top defense which could help him to secure some low-scoring victories.
For now, this is Siemian’s team and he has a lot to prove. Luckily for him, it appears the Broncos are willing to roll with him and see how it all works out.
