The Denver Broncos are the first team in this offseason to solve their head coaching vacancy. According to Tom Pelissero from NFL Network, the team is set to hire the Packers Offensive Coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to become their new Head Coach.
Hackett was also a candidate for the Jacksonville Jaguars position and was scheduled to do a second interview this week but the Broncos overtook them and hired him.

He will be the 18th head coach of the three-time Super Bowl winner franchise succeeding Vic Fangio in the position as he was fired right after the last game of the team’s regular season.
Hackett started his coaching in his alma mater UC Davis as the linebackers coach and one year later was hired by Stanford. He made his first jump to the NFL in 2006 as the Offensive Quality Control Coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later the Buffalo Bills.
In 2013, he came back to the NFL, after three years as the Offensive Coordinator of Syracuse, to be the OC of the Buffalo Bills. As of late, he went to the Conference Finals with the Jaguars in 2017 and has spent the last three seasons of his career with the Packers.
Currently, there’s still seven head coaching vacancies left: Raiders, Jaguars, Vikings, Dolphins, Giants, Teaxans and, recently, the Saints.
