A talented singer by the name of Reggie Becton once asked, “What’s love if it ain’t toxic?” When discussing the work of Future, Bryson Tiller and a few others, this line often comes to mind. However, one singer in particular tops them all this evening in the melodic toxicity sector and his name is Brent Faiyaz.
Weeks before the world was ravaged by COVID-19, the Baltimore singer-songwriter burst on to the national scene with his critically acclaimed project, F*ck The World. While that particular project set the tone for his run over the next 18 months, he had a lot more in store. He appeared on 2 Chainz’s latest album, worked with Drake and hopped on Baby Keem’s latest single. Not to mention, he dropped an EP of his own. Nearly two years after delivering the breakout project and embarking on a star making run, Brent Faiyaz appears to be gearing up to release his latest full-length project.
Getting fans ready for what appears to be his first album in two years, Brent Faiyaz has delivered the first single from his upcoming album, Wasteland. The 233-second track starts off with what sounds like an upbeat bop before shifting to a more soulful, laidback beat as he sings about a girl who only wants him for his riches.
