Baltimore’s Brent Faiyaz has returned with his latest project, Wasteland. Building upon the success of tracks like “Wasting Time” featuring Drake and “Gravity” with Tyler, The Creator, the LP is led by the single, “Price of Fame.” The 19-track project also includes on-track contributions from Joony, Alicia Keys and Tre’ Armani. Behind the scenes, Jorja Smith, Steve Lacy, The Dream, No I.D. and several others have worked on this LP.
“It was less of an album process and more of a life process. I just made a collection of songs and tied a storyline together once I saw that they all kind of shared a similar theme. I didn’t really realize I was working on an album until I was maybe a little over halfway through,” the Baltimore native said about the process of creating this project.
“Then I realized, Wait a minute, this is a body of work.”
Brent Faiyaz has not yet announced an accompanying tour for this project, but he has been on the road recently. Leading up to the project’s release, he has embarked on a three-date listening tour across the country. Things kicked off in Atlanta, Georgia on July 4 before heading to New York, New York on July 5. The tour was originally scheduled to end on July 7 in the City of Angels, but fans in Los Angeles, California will have to wait until July 8 to enjoy the project with the man who made it.
