Brandy has provided an update regarding her health following a TMZ report that she was hospitalized due to a possible seizure. The R&B singer said her recent medical scare was triggered by “dehydration and low amounts of nutrition.”
“To my beloved fam, friends, and stars, thank you for sending love and light my way,” Brandy wrote in a statement on social media.
“I am following doctors’ orders and getting the rest I need due to dehydration and low amounts of nutrition. Thank you for your prayers and support. Grateful for you all, see you soon.”
TMZ reported that paramedics were called to Brandy’s home on Tuesday, citing law enforcement. The outlet said that she was taken to the hospital in Los Angeles, but that she was on the road to recovery with her parents by her side.
The star revealed in August that she landed the starring role in the upcoming A24 thriller, The Front Room. According to Variety, the film — adapted from the short story of the same name by Susan Hull — will be Max and Sam Eggers’ big-screen directorial debut and will be about “a young, newly pregnant couple forced to take in an ailing stepmother who has long been estranged from the family.”
