Captain America can take down hundreds of henchmen and foil evil plans of masterminds but hes not strong enough for three women.
‘The Other Woman’ takes down ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ and takes up the top spot at the box office. The female comedy took in a big $24.7 million over the weekend.
After holding the honors of the top spot for three weeks, ‘Captain America’ slides down to the second place position with $16 million. It brings its domestic total to $225 million and $645 million worldwide. The film beat its predecessor ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ which made $370 million worldwide. It now stands as the highest grossing April release of all time.
In third place is the egregious offering ‘Heaven Is for Real’ which made $13.8 million.
Riding on ‘Heaven’s heels is ‘Rio 2’ which pulled in $13.6 million and brings its domestic total up to $96.2 million.
‘Brick Mansions’ starring the late Paul Walker rounds out the top 5 and pulled in $9.6 million. The film was the last full movie Walker finished before his untimely death in a car crash last November.
Next weekend kicks off the first weekend of summer when ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ hits theaters Thursday night and will definitely take the top spot from ‘The Other Woman’.
