Hyland was selected with the 26th pick overall in the 2021 NBA Draft and has been quite a steal for the Nuggets. The guard has been sharing the backup minutes with Facundo Campazzo and already has a career-high of 27 points in a big win against the Los Angeles Lakers in early January.
So far this season. he’s averaging 8.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 18 minutes per game.
Hyland will play for Team Payton along with LaMelo Ball, Scottie Barnes, Ayo Dosunmu, Jonathan Kuminga (replacing Chris Cuarte), Jaden McDaniels, and G League Ignite Scoot Henderson.
The Rising Stars Challenge will take place on Friday night at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland and it will be televised by TNT starting at 9 p.m. ET.
