Authorities in Indianapolis, Indiana have arrested a man they believe made a bomb threat at a Doja Cat concert on Saturday afternoon. According to a report from the Indy Star, the incident in question took place at approximately 5 p.m. CT on January 8 at Monument Circle.
“IMPD has arrested a man who was trying to get through the security line for AT&T’s Playoff Playlist Live at Monument Circle. Nearby witnesses told police the individual said he had an explosive on him,” a statement from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reads.
“IMPD officers responded, searched his bag and did not find an explosive. The man had unrelated outstanding warrant and was immediately arrested for those. He currently is in police custody.”
The police did not identify the man in question. However, it appears that he is accused of acting alone. Despite the alleged threat, the concert moved forward without delay.
“Tonight’s activities and concert for CFP will continue as planned,” the statement added.
Doja Cat and Pink Sweat$ took the stage Saturday night in Indianapolis as promotion for AT&T’s upcoming College Football Playoff National Championship. Tomorrow, Katy Perry and Alesso will work with ESPN and AT&T to debut their new music video during halftime of the national championship.
