Music mogul Birdman has announced that he will be helping out residents of his hometown neighborhood. In May, he will cover the rent of residents living his hometown neighborhood in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Cash Money CEO shared the news on Instagram.
“I would like 2 offer to pay everybody rent for month of May (for those who in need) in residents area of UPTOWN New Orleans where I was born and raised at from mac melph calio and ST Thomas housing also from 3rd ward to 17th ward,” he wrote.

He then went on to share that he’s been in contact with the mayor and other local officials to make this happen. Later on, he thanked many of the frontline responders in his home state for their valiant efforts. Finally, he ended by thanking Cash Money and Republic Records for their support.
The city of New Orleans has been one of the hardest hit throught this pandemic. As of April 20, John Hopkins University has recorded 339 deaths in the city alone.
