Parents who are afraid of having “The Talk” with their kids breathed a huge sigh of relief on Friday. That’s because Netflix renewed Big Mouth for another three seasons. Co-Creator, Nick Kroll took to Twitter to share the news:
BIG MOUTH HAS BEEN PICKED UP FOR 3 MORE SEASONS!!! Thank you to our writers, cast, crew, Netflix and everyone around the world who watches the show! pic.twitter.com/hvrmW1JxfO

Kroll’s animated journey through puberty has been a hit since the first season dropped back in 2017. It even earned an Emmy nomination for the song “Totally Gay” from the first season episode, ‘Am I Gay?’ The series returned for a second season last fall, picking up it’s second Emmy nom in the process. Netflix previously renewed the series for a third season, which is expected to return this fall to walk kids and adults alike through the awkward, confusing, and hysterical experience of puberty.
Big Mouth‘s renewal was only a part of the deal though as Kroll and co also signed on to produce more animated content for Netflix. This is just the latest move from the streamer that points towards a major emphasis on animated series over the next few years. Earlier this year, Netflix rolled out a trailer for Tuca & Bertie, a new series led by Tiffany Haddish. And not even a week after that announcement, the streaming giant ordered a new animated series from the showrunner of Gravity Falls. So, it should come as no surprise that Netflix is wanting to keep Big Mouth around for a while as they dive into the animated market.
Big Mouth season 3 is expected to drop on Netflix later this fall.
