This year, fans of music have been treated to projects from many of the biggest artists in the world like Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Bad Bunny. However, no artists can seemingly stop time like Beyoncé. Weeks ago, the Houston native popped back up with a showstopping single called “Break My Soul.” The uptempo, dance track paired with Big Freedia’s vocals created momentum for what was to come. Tonight, Renaissance arrived and built upon what has been building since “Break My Soul” arrived.
Beyoncé’s seventh studio album, Renaissance, is not short on star power. The project lists Grace Jones, Tems and Beam as the lead features. However, there’s more than appears on the tracklist. Drake, Boi-1da, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, Nija Charles and several others worked on the star’s latest LP.
“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” Beyoncé said about her latest project, Renaissance.
“A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”
Six years have passed since Beyoncé shook up the world with Lemonade, but the excitement surrounding her music releases has not died down. Now, it’s time for the Renaissance to begin. Check out the global star’s latest album and be on the lookout for more to come.
