There is no stage too big for Beyoncé. Throughout her illustrious career, she’s taken the stage at the Grammy Awards, Super Bowl and Coachella. Not to mention, she’s toured the world performing nothing but hits four hours on end. Tonight, she blessed Hollywood’s finest with a performance that opened up the 94th Academy Awards. Backed by a meticulously developed group of dancers and vocalists, the Texas native performed “Be Alive” from the King Richard soundtrack.
“It feels so good to be alive/Got all my family by my side/Couldn’t wipe this black off if I tried/That’s why I lift my head with pride,” she sings.
“I got a million miles on me/They want to see how far I’ll go/The path was never paved with gold/We worked and built this on our own.”
Beyoncé is not done just yet. “Be Alive” is nominated for “Best Original Song” alongside Finneas, Billie Eilish and Lin-Manuel Miranda. By the end of the night, the legendary talent may be one step closer to reaching “EGOT” status.
