New music continues to flood through streaming platforms during the holiday weekend. Cardi B returned with a new single, Usher delivered the most viral Tiny Desk performance of the year and Muni Long shared her latest project. Not to mention, Joey Bada$$ and Westside Gunn announced that they have new music on the way. With all that has been announced and released this weekend, it’s easy for quality music to fall through the cracks. One track, in particular, that fans should not let slip by is “Warm Up” by BaddNews.
BaddNews may be a familiar name to some as he’s worked alongside Casanova and appeared on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow. For those who are just tapping in with the rising artist, there’s a number of tracks you can’t start with. “Out The Rental” is one of the hardest-hitting tracks of 2021 and “Back Now” highlights his melodic versatility. This weekend, it would be wise to check out “Warm Up.”
Directed by BSweazy, the “Warm Up” video cuts out the unneeded theatrics. The 119-second visual centers the lyrical writer behind a microphone and focuses on his energetic delivery.
“[I’ve] been killing sh*t for years. It feels like I’ve been on the run. I told you two, three times at least that I am not the one,” he raps.
“You tried to keep it low, but I heard exactly what you said. Get on your a**. Like arts and crafts, we hit your block and paint it red.”
“Warm Up” serves as the follow-up to his recent appearance on This Is 50 and his Off Da Top freestyle. Check out the visual below.
