Baby Keem has announced that he plans to release “Family Ties” with Kendrick Lamar on Friday at 12 a.m. ET. His announcement comes less than a week after Lamar announced that he was working his “final TDE album.”
“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown,” Lamar told fans.
Shortly after making his announcement, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith issued a statement of support for Lamar.
“With this being Dot’s last album on TDE, this is more of a VICTORY LAP, a celebration,” Tiffith wrote.
“I know he will be successful in whatever it is he decides to do and will have our FULL support.”
While Lamar is working on his final album with TDE, many do not expect this to be his final album release ever. Just last year, Lamar teamed up with Dave Free to launch pgLang, an innovative music imprint that has been tied to Jorja Smith, Yara Shahidi and the aforementioned, Baby Keem.
At this time, it is unclear if this release is a part of Lamar’s album of Keem’s. As previously mentioned, Lamar is currently working on an album, but it appears that Keem has been as well. He has released songs like “Hooligan” and “Durag Activity” with Travis Scott within the last year. However, he hasn’t shared a title or release date with his fans.
More will be revealed come Friday at 12 a.m. ET
