This month, fans of Marvel’s Cinematic Universe has been captivated by the release of Captain Marvel. The new Marvel film has performed incredibly well at the box office and leads into what will be an incredible April for the Disney branch. Next month, Marvel will release its fourth Avengers film, Avengers: Endgame.
At the tail end of 2018, Disney released the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame. This month, they released another trailer and anticipation for the film could not be higher. With everything going for the film, a writer from the film sat down for an exclusive interview to speak about the film.
When interviewed by Empire, Christopher Markus said, “We are in different territory, possibly than anyone’s ever been in before in terms of a movie series.” Markus added, “The MCU continues to exist. Who happens to be in it is fluid and evolving things where, because it’s all connected, you can’t reboot one. All the parts have to work together. Things continue, but like life, losses are real, and change is real.”
Markus concluded by stating, “It is a different movie than you think it is…Also…[the deaths are] real. I just want to tell you it’s real, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will be able to move on to the next stage of grief.”
Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26th.
