Harlem is in the building! Only a week after A$AP Rocky, dropped his latest project, Testing, A$AP Ferg has dropped off new music. A$AP Ferg’s “Harlem Anthem” is the first single off of the upcoming Uncle Drew soundtrack.
On the first verse, Ferg shines when he raps, “I’m a beast going straight for the jugular/Like King Kong, stepping on what’s among us/Scrapping y’all off of my feet like fungus/Bricks on the backboard/Then I hit him with the sham because he asked for it/Criss-Cross, make him jump.” Ferg follows up later in the verse with more basketball related bars by rapping, “I’ve been the truth/The devil is a liar/Fans going crazy in the risers/You know Harlem is the livest.” Ferg closes out the record by saluting Harlem. Ferg sings, “Welcome to Harlem/Where legacies are born/Welcome to Harlem/Concrete roses with the thorns/Welcome to Harlem/Come to see where stars are born.”
While Uncle Drew is not set to hit theaters until June 29th, the soundtrack for the Kyrie Irving led film will be released on June 15th. Alongside Ferg, the soundtrack will feature music from French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Remy Ma, Yo Gotti, YBN Nahmir, Dispet, Khalid, Fat Joe, A$AP Rocky, Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Logic, Goldlink, H.E.R and Boston Celtics point guard, Kyrie Irving. Be sure to check out the sixteen track project when it hits the internet on June 15th.
