Head Coach Jerod Haase and the Stanford Cardinal have landed the commitment of 2023 top 25 recruit and top five small forward Andrej Stojakovic. He is the son of NBA legend Peja Stojakovic. The talented small forward has “one and done” potential, but will need a good freshman season before he can declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. He committed to the Stanford Cardinal over the Texas Longhorns, Oregon Ducks, and UCLA Bruins. This is a major addition for Haase who has gotten some talented forwards to the NBA in the last few seasons. He is the fourth-highest-rated recruit to commit to Stanford in the modern era.

Huge pickup for Jerod Haase and the Cardinal.

There has been some speculation that Head Coach Jerod Haase is on the hot seat at Stanford, but he continues to land five-star talent. He will need a strong showing in the PAC-12 this season or he could be gone before Andrej Stojakovic arrives on campus for his freshman season. His willingness to stay with the program through a head coaching change is unknown, but it will be something to watch for if Stanford makes that move in the Spring.

The Stanford program has been middle of the road in the PAC-12 for some time now and that will need to change. Andrej Stojakovic plans to follow in his father’s footsteps and play in the NBA one day. He will have some help in the form of 2023 five-star combo guard Kanaan Carlyle who will join him on campus next season.
