After a stellar rookie season as a complement to Mark Ingram, Kamara continued to blossom into his own superstar and was the focal point of New Orleans’ rushing attack last season. Kamara has made the Pro Bowl each year in his first three seasons and is expected to be a workhorse yet again this season for the Saints.
However, Kamara does come into this upcoming season with a few question marks. Kamara reportedly played through a torn MCL injury for much of last season which certainly had an impact on his effectiveness and limited him to only 14 appearances.
Kamara also received an epidural shot in his back this offseason which resulted in a handful of absences from practice. Though some speculated Kamara’s non-participation was holdout-related, the back insisted he was just tending to his back pain.
However, Kamara now appears fully healthy ahead of what could be one of quarterback Drew Brees’ final seasons with New Orleans. With his back and knee ailments seemingly sorted out and a new deal under his belt, expect Kamara to be explosive as ever in what should be another contending season for the Saints.
