Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been in the news a lot since she was elected, but over the last few days the focus on her has shifted from politics to content creation. Last week, news broke that Netflix had offered $10 million for a documentary about Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign that debuted at Sundance Film Festival. This week, Ocasio-Cortez revealed that she would be the first guest on a highly anticipated TV series premiere.
For the series premiere of #DESUSandMERO, it's only right our first guest is a BX luminary.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will be the first guest on Desus & Mero’s new show on Showtime. The trio of popular figures made the announcement yesterday on Twitter with a short video. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez happily said, “I am proud to announce that I will be forming an exploratory committee to be the first guest on Desus & Mero.” From there, The Kid Mero and Desus Nice bust in to say, “That’s right! That’s right! We’re exploring.”
The new Desus & Mero series will premiere on February 21st at 11 p.m. EST on Showtime. Unlike their previous Viceland series, the show will air weekly as opposed to daily. Watch the full announcement above and check back here on February 21st for the full interview recap.
