Addison Patterson is a top 50 recruit in the class of 2019 after recently reclassifying from the 2020 class just days ago. With that he has committed to Oregon, joining an already stacked recruiting class. Dana Altman already was bringing in a top-five class nationally after gaining the commitment of N’Faly Dante earlier this week.
Patterson was down to Oregon, Illinois, and USC with the Ducks being the clear leader of the bunch. 11 of 12 recruiting experts of 247 expected the decision to go Oregon’s way up to an hour before Patterson’s decision.
This caps a highly impressive reloading effort for Oregon this spring & summer. Down to six scholarship players at one point, they landed two graduate transfers, two sit-out transfers, one freshman and convinced two top-35 juniors to reclassify. There’s top-10 talent in Eugene. https://t.co/648O9uDlyd

Patterson is an athletic shooting guard with a still improving jumper. Unlike most guards his age, Patterson is someone who really competes hard on both ends. He attacks the basket in the halfcourt and is a terror in transition. His shot out to the three-point line still needs work but mid-range is a place he’s currently comfortable.
He’s not one many expect to be a one and done as the shaky jumper will be a problem. After two to three years in school under Dana Altman, a coach who regularly sees his guys improve their shots under his tutelage could go a long way for Patterson. Oregon is bringing in a strong recruiting class to support Payton Pritchard.
