Abby D. Phillip is taking the next step at CNN. The political correspondent has not only been promoted to senior political correspondent, but she is also taking over as the next weekend anchor of Inside Politics.
“I’m so thrilled to be taking the reins of Inside Politics Sunday from my friend and colleague John King starting on January 24th. [I] could not be more proud to be joining this incredible
CNN franchise,” she tweeted.
After the news was shared with viewers, Phillip’s colleagues shared their excitement for the respected reporter.

“Screaming congrats to Abby D. Phillip! We love to see it,” ABC’s Rachel Scott tweeted.

Phillip’s run on Inside Politics will begin January 24 at 8 a.m. ET.
