“I missed y’all,” 6LACK tweeted yesterday.
Well, it has been quite some time since 6LACK delivered his last EP, 6pc Hot. Not to mention, it’s been more than three years since he delivered his last LP, East Atlanta Love Letter. Since then, he’s sprinkled a few features through a number of albums including Isaiah Rashad’s The House Is Burning, Khalid’s Scenic Drive and Lauren Jauregui’s Prelude. Fortunately, he has been a bit more visible lately.
Over the Thanksgiving holiday break, the Atlanta native celebrated the 5th anniversary of his breakout project, Free 6LACK, by releasing limited edition merchandise and putting together a special show in Atlanta. This Friday, he returned with not one, but two new songs. Both songs highlight the Atlanta native’s ability to evoke emotion with heartfelt lyrics over laid back production.
6LACK is gearing up to start the new year with his third album. If this two-pack is any indication, then fans have a lot to be excited about. Check out “Rent Free” and “By Any Means” below.
