John Calipari and the Wildcats are not the only people in Bluegrass State to begin the month of November with a big win. Tonight, Rand Paul secured another term in the U.S. Senate. by defeating upstart challenger Charles Booker.
Rand Paul is a long-time member of the U.S. Senate who rose to prominence as a force within the Tea Party movement in 2010. He has managed to stay in office while also launching an unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2016.
Rand Paul is one of several Republican lawmakers who has managed to stay in office on Election Night this year. Elsewhere, Marco Rubio ousted Val Demings in a competitive Senate race in Florida. Meanwhile, Tim Scott managed to stay in the Senate out in South Carolina as political insiders position him as a potential Trump challenger in the 2024 presidential GOP primary.
Election Night is far from over. Key races still remain in Pennsylvania and Georgia. Down in the south Herschel Walker challenges incumbent Raphael Warnock. Up north, John Fetterman battles Mehmet Oz, better known as Dr. Oz. More election results will roll in as the polls close across the country.
