Over the last few months, a lot has been said and written about the location of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game. After battles over voting rights laws and civil rights, the game is set to take place in Denver, Colorado on July 13. In preparation for the annual celebration, MLB has named starters for the National League and American League teams.
Stars like Shohei Ohtani, Teoscar Hernández, Rafael Devers and Marcus Semien will make their first start in the MLB All-Star Game for the American League. On the other end, Adam Frazier, Fernando Tatis Jr., Nick Castellanos and Jesse Winker will make their first start in the MLB All-Star Game for the National League. In addition, stars like Aaron Judge, Mike Trout and Buster Posey will make their way on to the field in Denver.
“He’s a joy for this,” Angels Manager Joe Maddon said about Ohtani’s excitement to play in the 2021 MLB All-Star Game.
“He’s what baseball needs as both a player and as an example.”
Another touching aspect of the 2021 MLB All-Star Game is the inclusion of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The son of the legendary outfielder will make his first start in the MLB All-Star Game as a member of the American League.
“When you were a little kid you used to go with me to the all-star game, today you become the youngest player ever to lead the MLB in all-star voting,” Guerrero tweeted.
Guerrero Jr. and company will gather at Coors Field next weekend for all of the all-star weekend festivities.
