The Weeknd may not have received praise at this year’s GRAMMY Awards, but he will surely be celebrated at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards. The Canadian superstar leads all nominees this year with an astounding eight nominations. Following closely behind, Roddy Ricch and Megan Thee Stallion are tied at six nominations each. Adding to the festivities, Pop Smoke will also be honored at this year’s award show. The late artist received three nominations at this year’s award ceremony.
In only its eighth year, the iHeartRadio Music Awards continue to add to their celebration. This year, fans will have the opportunity to vote for several categories including “Best Fan Army” and “Best Lyrics.” Voting for the two aforementioned categories and several others will begin this week and run through May 19.
“The iHeartRadio Music Awards is a true awards show recognizing the artists and songs fans have listened to and loved all year long,” John Sykes of iHeartMedia said.
“We are looking forward to celebrating these top artists and their accomplishments, especially after a year that brought unprecedented challenges to the music industry and live events.”
