2021 5 Star guard Max Christie committed to Michigan State today, giving the Spartans another huge commitment for their 2021. He will join 5 Star Emoni Bates, who recently committed to Michigan State and will reclassify to the class of 2021. He will also join 4 Star Pierre Brooks, a 6-5 shooting guard out of Detroit. This is a formidable class for Michigan State and Izzo certainly is not done yet. Michigan State has been on to the premier program in college and this 2021 class will continue that.
What Christie Brings to Michigan State
Max Christie is a 6-6 foot wing out of Rolling Meadows Indiana. He is a consensus 5 star and is one of the top players in his class. Christie is a strong scorer, who can score at all three levels. His long arms allow him to shoot over any defender and he is quick enough to get by. His weakness is that he needs to gain strength, but his size and length are great for his age. He is also a strong ball-handler and passer, who has the IQ to be an impact player day one. He is also a strong defender, who’s build allows him to go toe to toe with anyone on the perimeter, but if he faces a stronger and bigger opponent, especially in the paint, he may struggle.
