The nominees for the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards include multiple nods for Lizzo, Ariana Grande, DaBaby, Cardi B, Lil Nas X, Summer Walker, Taylor Swift, and more. Cardi B is up for ‘Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year’ the same award she took home last year.  The Hip-Hop categories are very competitive with heavy hitters such as Drake and Rick Ross up against rising acts like DaBaby and Lil Baby.

Although Hip-Hop is the most popular sound, in non-genre specific categories, Hip-Hop artists are less dominant.  In the categories ‘Female Artist Of The Year’, ‘Male Artist Of The Year’, ‘Duo/Group Of The Year, and ‘Song Of The Year’ do not feature any traditional Hip-Hop or Rap acts.

Different from an award show such as the Grammy Awards or the BET Awards, the iHeartRadio Music Awards also have fan-voted categories, where the audience votes online and through social media to ensure their favorite stars are recognized.

The  2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards air live on FOX, on Sunday, March 29th at 8pm ET and broadcasted on iHeartMedia stations nationwide and on iHeartRadio.
