The 2019 All-NBA teams have been revealed with James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo being the only two players voted unanimously into the first team. The two MVP finalists were joined by the Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic. Antetokounmpo and George were also selected in the 2019 NBA All-Defensive teams earlier this week.

The second team features Kevin Durant from the Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard, Joel Embiid from the Philadelphia 76ers, Kawhi Leonard from the Toronto Raptors and Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics.

And last but not least, the third team features the reigning Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert, Blake Griffin from the Detroit Pistons, Kemba Walker from the Charlotte Hornets, Russell Westbrook from the Thunder and LeBron James from the Los Angeles Lakers. With James’ selection to the third team, it puts an end to his streak of 11 straight seasons being in the All-NBA First team.

For reaching the All-NBA threshold this season Kemba Walker, Damian Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Rudy Gobert are available to sign the NBA supermax extension this offseason either this summer or next.
Because Rudy Gobert won defensive player of the year last year and was named to an All-NBA team this year, he joins Giannis Antetokounmpo, Damian Lillard and Kemba Walker as qualifying for the supermax. Gobert can sign a supermax extension next summer.

One of the most notable snubs was the Warriors guard Klay Thompson who talked about not being selected in any of the three All-NBA teams and didn’t sound too happy about it. He even said that there’s not a lot of guards that are better than him in the league so he should have been selected for the All-NBA team. Bradley Beal and Karl-Anthony Towns also joined Thompson in missing out on a potential supermax contract.
Klay Thompson learns he didn’t make All-NBA (“Oh I didn’t?”) and is clearly a little ticked (it affects his next contract): “When you go to five straight Finals, it takes more than a couple All-NBA guys…Do I think there are that many guards better than me? No.” pic.twitter.com/bW5DiBavo1
