Team USA came out with guns blazing in their first exhibition game before their trip to Rio for the 2016 Olympics. The US National Team had been practicing all week in Las Vegas with the USA Select Team. For four days, Team USA led by the direction of Mike Krzyzewski aka Coach K, built up intrigue about the future of this team.
How good could they be? Who might the starting lineup be? Could this team be better than the 2012 team?
Well, doubters need not to worry anymore. Team USA handled business in dominating fashion over an Argentina team that has some legit talent. The US blew out Argentina, 111-74 in their first exhibition game in Las Vegas.
Kevin Durant scored 23 points, Paul George added 18, and DeMarcus Cousins put up 14 points and 15 rebounds. For Argentina, Andres Nocioni had 15 and Manu Ginobili added 11.
Team USA defeated Argentina handily and they move on to play China on Sunday and then again on Tuesday. Sunday’s contest will be at Staples Center in Los Angeles an Tuesday’s game will be at Oracle Arena in Oakland.
Our partners over at Baller Visions captured some of this footage live from the game. Big shoutout to Marcel Chappell for holding it down for Def Pen out in Las Vegas.
