It’s my favourite All Star related subject before the All Star Weekend itself. The All Star reserves, chosen by the NBA coaches but most importantly, the player they didn’t pick. The snubs.

Eastern Conference reserves: Chris Bosh (Heat), DeMar DeRozan (Raptors), Roy Hibbert (Pacers), Joe Johnson (Nets), Paul Millsap (Hawks), Joakim Noah (Bulls), and John Wall (Wizards)
Western Conference reserves: LaMarcus Aldridge (Blazers), James Harden (Rockets), Dwight Howard (Rockets), Damian Lillard (Blazers), Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks), Tony Parker (Spurs), and Chris Paul (Clippers)
A special salute to Lillard, Millsap, Hibbert, DeRozan and Wall who will all get their first bite of the All Star apple. Amazing to think that Wall hasn’t been chosen before. Just goes to show how deep were in the “Golden Age of the Point Guard”.
But as I said before its not the reserves we talk about. It’s the players who didn’t get picked. Here’s a few.
Arron Afflalo (Magic), Mike Conley (Grizzlies), DeMarcus Cousins (Kings), Anthony Davis (Pelicans), Goran Dragic (Suns), Andre Drummond (Pistons), Tim Duncan (Spurs), Serge Ibaka (Thunder) Al Jefferson (Bobcats), Ty Lawson (Nuggets), David Lee (Warriors), Kyle Lowry (Raptors), Lance Stephenson (Pacers), Kemba Walker (Bobcats), David West (Pacers) and Russell Westbrook (Thunder).
Now honestly I don’t mind the backcourt I think the fans and the coaches have picked the right players, (Westbrook will be injured do I don’t count that as a snub) what I am steaming over is the fact that Andre Drummond, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis were not picked.
HOW?! Drummond is a rebound MACHINE and is also one of the top dogs in FG%, Cousins is having a career year and Davis is picking up where he left of in Kentucky! He’s the LEADER IN BPG! Honestly I don’t see why Dirk is there. I respect the hell out of him but these three are more worthy in my eyes.
I’ll waver on Cousins because of injury troubles but Drummond and Davis should definitely be there.
Now all that’s left is the names for the 3PT contest, Slam Dink contest and the rest on All Star Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned.
