Talk about a helluva lineup for a concert. The folks at Power 105 have announced their lineup for the upcoming Power 105.1 #PowerHouseNYC which will be held at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY this October 22, 2015.
Every artist on the PowerHouse lineup respectively is having a great year for their careers thus far. The Lineup consists of Kendrick Lamar, Meek Mill, Jeremih, Future, Fetty Wap, Big Sean, Omarion and Jidenna. Here is a quick rundown on why this lineup is so good and at the same time why each artist respectively deserved the spot to me.
Kendrick Lamar who is thriving off the release of his ‘To Pimp A Butterfly‘ with standouts like ‘Alright‘ & ‘King Kunta‘ the project has earned another notch under King Kendrick’s belt following up the fan favorite ‘GKMC‘. So it is to no surprise he is more than likely going to be “headline” of this show.
Meek Mill earns a spot on this lineup as well which is more than deserving as he overcame the odds of having to push back his project due to a parole violation and being locked up. Following up his debut, ‘Dreams & Nightmares‘, ‘Dreams Worth More Than Money‘ which was supported by stand out singles like, ‘R.I.C.O‘, ‘All Eyes On You‘, ‘Jump Out The Face‘, was a good album. Now lets not forget the incident with Drake, even though he was on receiving end of taking a loss, he still has records his fans and any regular Joe will want to hear.
Jeremih has quietly – but not so quietly – kept his name in the music game relevant. The Chicago native has always been a go to for features, whether it be a verse or a hook he never disappoints. His most recent radio smash ‘Planes’ which features J.Cole has further proved that Jeremih is a force within the industry to be taken serious.
Future, where do I begin? He has released solid mixtape after mixtape after mixtape which then finished up the run with a great album in Dirty Sprite 2. Prior to DS2, Future has given fans, ‘Beast Mode‘, ‘Monster‘, and ‘56 Nights‘. Each respectively adding a tally next his name to furthermore solidify his spot. And if that isn’t proof enough, with songs like ‘Commas‘, ‘Real Sisters‘, ‘Trap Niggas‘, ‘March Madness‘ and just about the entire DS2, there are very few in 2015 with a catalog like Future Hendrix.
Fetty Wap aka Fetty Pendergrass, the New Jersey native has certainly taken the music industry by storm. Upon releasing the hit record ‘Trap Queen‘ it was his other records to follow that have stamped his name in the record books. ‘My Way’ which was then given the OVO midas toouch as Drake would say has also been proven to be a hit record and if that isn’t enough his two other records, ‘679’ and ‘Again’ all have made their way into the top 10 of the billboard charts. This feat has put Fetty into the history books and I don’t see anyone outdoing him anytime soon. Also with the momentum going he is dropping his album September 25th.
Like I said before, this lineup is damn near perfect and when you add Big Sean into the mix, along with his catalog from recent years and most notably his current album ‘Dark Sky Paradise‘ we are in for a show. From records like ‘Play No Games‘, ‘One Man Can Change The World‘, ‘Blessings‘ and ‘IDFWU‘, I don’t see how fans won’t have a good time, plus from what I hear he’s a good stage performer.
Maybach O ladies and gentlemen or formally known as Omarion has managed to rectify his music career and make his way back onto our radio stations. Upon appearing on Love and Hip Hop he then released the hit record, ‘Post To Be‘ with Jhene Aiko and Chris Brown. To follow up he then dropped ‘I’m Up‘ featuring none other than French Montana & Kid Ink. Lets not ignore the catalog of records that Omarion has dropped in the past that his fans continue to love like ‘Ice Box’, ‘Touch’, & ‘M.I.A’ just to name a few, also he is definitely a great performer as well.
Rounding up the bunch is new comer Jidenna. Mr. ‘Classic Man‘ himself. One of the biggest songs out right now there is no question as to why he is on the lineup for #PowerHouseNYC. Also he is featured on Janelle Monae’s record, ‘Yoga‘ which is dope as well so hopefully he brings her out to perform this as well. Who knows, a man with a short catalog right now may debut a new record or two at the show as well so if you’re a fan you don’t want to miss this.
