Fox is getting close to nearing a deal with Marvel for an X-Men live-action TV-series.
According to EW, Chairman and CEO Dana Walden is looking to announce the hopeful news soon.
“We’re in negotiations with Marvel, we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to announce something soon. We’re not closed on a deal yet, but it’s something we’re definitely pursuing.”
The deal could potentially include characters in the X-Men feature film franchise (which is owned by Fox) and not any characters in the Marvel-verse that are with Disney and rival ABC. “This will be exclusively with the franchise as it has existed at Fox,” she said.
This will be good news for FOX since the network is beefing up its line-up with several reboots.
The X-Files is returning, Minority Report debuts this fall, a Prison Break reboot is forthcoming, and 24 is on track to reboot as well.
