Netflix has renewed Berlin for a second season. The show’s second chapter will re-introduce viewers to a charismatic cast of actors, including Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña, Michelle Jenner, Samantha Siqueiros and of course, the lead, Pedro Alonso. In this Money Heist spinoff, Berlin, played by Alonso, leads a knowledgeable band of criminals on some of the most dangerous heists in the world.
“The iconic character, played by Pedro Alonso, will be back with a new heist and more love,” the streaming service stated.
During its premiere week, Berlin was the most-watched series globally and reached the top 10 in 91 countries. Since then, it has remained in the top 10 for seven consecutive weeks in non-English TV, amassing 348 million hours viewed and 53 million total views. The series is now ranked at number nine among the most-watched non-English-language series in the history of Netflix.”
Series creators Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato expect to begin filming season two in 2025. However, Pina and Lobato have not yet identified a potential release window for the show’s sophomore season.
