LaKetih Stanfield has taken on a wide variety of roles in his career. From playing to Darius Epps in Atlanta to portraying Bill O’Neal in Judas and the Black Messiah, Stanfield has managed to fit himself in whatever the character requires him to be. However, no role seems more fitting for the California native than the role of a samurai.
Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming anime, Yasuke. In this series, Stanfield will take on the role of Yasuke, a samurai who must restore order to Japan.
“In a war-torn feudal Japan filled with mechs and magic, the greatest ronin never known, Yasuke, struggles to maintain a peaceful existence after a past life of violence. But when a local village becomes the center of social upheaval between warring daimyo, Yasuke must take up his sword and transport a mysterious child who is the target of dark forces and bloodthirsty warlords,” the show’s description reads, according to Shadow & Act.
