We have another one ladies and gentlemen. Willem Dafoe will be making the jump from Marvel to DC Comics. Dafoe was a major part of Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy as he played the Green Goblin. The Hollywood Reporter has gained information stating that Dafoe has joined the cast for DC’s 2017 and 2019 Justice League films. Although we learn of his casting, his character is being kept a tight secret, but we do know it is a good guy.
Early last month, Dafoe’s former cast-mate from the Raimi trilogy, J.K Simmons, also signed on to be apart of the Justice League. Simmons will take on the mantle of Gotham’s Commissioner Gordon. Just last week, reports came out that Marvel is eyeing Micheal Keaton to be the potential big bad in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming.
With Dafoe’s character confirmed to be a good guy and is set to be in part’s 1 and 2 of the Justice League, who do you think he can be? The roles for Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are already taken. If he is apart of the original seven, the only three left are Green Lantern, Shazaam and Martian Manhunter. We’ll just have to wait and see, but my guess will be Martian Manhunter.
