Daniil Medvedev finished the 2023 Grand Slam season with the runner-up medal at the US Open in New York. The Moscow-born ace is getting closer to another major win, but can Medvedev win a Grand Slam in 2024?
Medvedev Reaches Another US Open Final
The final Grand Slam of the 2023 season was the thrilling US Open. Medvedev went all the way to the final at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, losing out to rival Novak Djokovic at the last hurdle. Medvedev is looking to build on his New York display with a strong 2024 campaign. Looking at the latest tennis betting odds from Betfair, Medvedev is available at +1100 to win Wimbledon next year and hoping to reach the latter stages of the other three Grand Slam tournaments.
Medvedev finished the Grand Slam season this year with a solid showing in New York. He got past the likes of Christopher O’Connell and Andrey Rublev before facing his old foe Djokovic in the final. Once again, the Serb was too strong, winning in straight sets. It was Djokovic’s 24th Grand Slam title of his sensational career.

Can Medvedev Build on the 2021 Major Triumph?
In his nine-year tennis career, Medvedev has won just one Grand Slam tournament. He went all the way at the 2021 US Open, defeating Djokovic 3-0 in the final.
The former world No. 1 has reached four Grand Slam finals so far. He lost the 2021 and 2022 Australian Open finals and was beaten in this year’s US Open final. Medvedev has also been a Davis Cup winner, helping his nation to glory in 2021.
With Roger Federer recently retiring, rumors of Rafael Nadal finally calling it a day, and Djokovic turning 37 next year, Medvedev’s future rivalries are likely to be with the likes of Alcaraz and other younger talent.
At 27, Medvedev still has plenty of time on his side. He has already reached world No. 1 status, but the Russian star will be desperate to build on his one Grand Slam victory.
Thank you for the last 2 weeks New York! ?? You were great. Not the result we hoped for today. Congrats to @DjokerNole on #24. See you next year @usopen. pic.twitter.com/ybqDDNHpD2

Once this season is done and dusted, Medvedev will turn his attention to next year. The first Grand Slam tournament will get underway in Melbourne in January. Then come the French Open and Wimbledon in the summer.
The US Open will be the final Grand Slam of 2024, and Medvedev will want to go one step further. Having won the tournament in 2021 and reached the final this year, Medvedev is a big fan of the New York City hard courts.
On his day, Medvedev is a match for anyone at the top level of men’s professional tennis. Of course, he would have loved to have ended 2023 with the US Open title, but reaching the final and picking up a silver medal is another step in the right direction.
2024 is set to be a huge year for Medvedev, and the 2021 US Open champion could be one to watch out for.
