It wouldn’t be the Super Bowl without teasers and trailers for the year’s most highly-anticipated films. Before the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers made it halfway through the first quarter, Universal shared the latest trailer for Wicked: Part One.
“In an alternate look at the land of Oz, the true heroine is wrongfully cast as the ‘wicked’ witch and actually turns out to be a freedom fighter who battles against the wizard for her homeland,” the film’s synopsis reads.
The refreshed look at the classic story will place Grammy Award winner Ariana Grande in the role of Glinda and Jeff Goldblum in the role of the Wizard. Not to be forgotten, Michelle Yeoh has been cast as Madame Morrible and Jonathan Bailey will play Fiyero. To top it all off, Cynthia Erivo will take the lead role of Elphaba.
Wicked: Part One is one many trailers set to hit the small screen during the biggest night in American sports, including Deadpool & Wolverine, Moana 2 and Knuckles. For now, check out the latest trailer starring Erivo before the film hits the big screen during Thanksgiving weekend.
