Good things come to those who wait. Six years after the debut of Deadpool II, Deadpool & Wolverine is making its way to theaters. Just in time for Super Bowl LVIII, Walt Disney Studios and Ryan Reynolds have unveiled the film’s Super Bowl LVIII trailer.
The R-rated trailer brings Reynolds’ Wade Wilson into full focus. After appearing to take a step back from his duties as Deadpool, the Time Variance Authority tracks down Wilson in an attempt to help them fight a common enemy. In response, he calls himself “Marvel Jesus.”
“Wade, you are special. This is your chance to be a hero among heroes,” a Time Variance Authority member, played by Matthew Macfadyen, said.
“I smell what you’re stepping in, sensei. You’re little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I’m the messiah. I…am…Marvel Jesus.”
The self-proclaimed Marvel Jesus eventually crosses path with Rob Delaney’s Sugar Bear, Karan Soni’s Dopinder, Stefan Kapicic’s Colossus, Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa and Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al. Not to be forgotten, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will also appear alongside Reynolds’ Deadpool.
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
