The Golden State Warriors completed the comeback journey they set out to achieve just about a year ago. After the Warriors had fallen to the Cleveland Cavaliers, thanks to a miraculous 3-1 comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals, the Warriors didn’t hold back on their journey to another title. The 2015 NBA champions fell in 2016, some say due to injuries and a suspension, and immediately wanted to load up. So they grabbed quite possibly the top free agent of the last 20 years and brought Kevin Durant into the fold.
Sure, everyone expected this to happen just about a year ago, but it actually had to happen. Injuries, tough opponents and acclimating a star player into the offense all could have prevented the newest NBA superteam from coming together and capturing a title. We saw it in 2009 with the Boston Celtics, 2011 with the Miami Heat and 2013 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Not everything always goes right.
But here we are fresh off the Warriors 4-1 victory in the 2017 NBA Finals. Kevin Durant is the NBA Finals MVP, and it’s now time for the Dubs to celebrate, much like they did in 2015. Check out some of the Championship parade information below.
