Vision and Scarlet Witch has officially found its showrunner and writer, Jac Schaeffer. Schaeffer is one of the writers behind the upcoming Captain Marvel movie, she also wrote the script for the planned Black Widow solo film. Vision and Scarlet Witch will be one of the first series to debut exclusively on Disney+, the company’s new streaming service launching in 2019. This story was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Both Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olson are expected to return for the series but not much else is known. Schaeffer will write the pilot and executive produce as well as serve as showrunner. Marvel is also working on other MCU series set to debut on Disney+. A Loki series is in development but there hasn’t been much news on that recently. The other series, one following Falcon and the Winter Soldier, is also in development and recently found a writer as well, in Malcolm Spellman.
Vision and Scarlet Witch have headlined their own comic series together multiple times over the years so Schaeffer will have plenty of material to adapt for the new TV series. Their relationship and children often take center stage but there will certainly still be plenty of action. Schaeffer has worked with Marvel a lot over the last few years and this series seems to show the company’s continuing trust in her. She’s also familiar with Marvel’s parent company Disney, as she co-wrote the short Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
