
Roma has emerged as one of the most critically acclaimed movies of the year. Released in November, the Alfonso Cuarón directed film earned the respect of critics and fans alike because of its intimacy and honesty. In recent months, the film has gone on to earn ten nominations at the 91st Annual Academy Awards and push Netflix into the “Best Picture” category for the first time. Most notably, Roma‘s Yalitza Aparicio has become the first indigenous Mexican woman to be nominated for “Best Actress” at the Academy Awards.
With only a few weeks left until the 91st Annual Academy Awards, Sony Music has decided to release a new project inspired by the film. The new project includes fifteen new tracks with special contributions from Billie Eillish, Jessie Reyez, EL-P, Beck, DJ Shadow and many more. The project comes as a complimentary body of music to the original soundtrack that was released back in November of 2018.
