Nothing like beautiful weather right? Sun shining, birds chirping, no sign of the cold and the Sno has melted away. Real Deal, who has been destroying the SMACK stage since his classic with B-Magic, finally got his chance to perform on a big URL stage and he shined bright that day.
In the fifth released battle off of Rookies vs Vets, the Vet put on a masterful performance, showing time and time again, how to break down an opponent that is standing in front of you while having the crowd go crazy.
You can see every bit of Dot Mob qualities that the top artist, in that group, exhibit within their performances. Their presence can sometimes be overwhelming for artists and Sno felt it that night. Sno tried to fight and prove he could RAP with them instead of presenting the total battle rapper package.
If you take some of the opinions that were said by a couple of the Vets in their past interviews about rookies, you’ll understand their point of view for why they are so upset with Rookies thinking they can step on that stage and be great.
Tsu Surf gives possibly the most concise statement on camera, up to date in this clip below.
You can check the full interview done by battle rap’s impresario, Michael Hughes here.
Here is a clip of Sno and Real Deal’s hardest hitting bars in the first round.
Here at Def Pen we sympathize with the Vets after watching, the viewers can clearly see the difference of what it takes to execute a performance. It doesn’t just take bars to be a battle rapper because when it comes to Sno, he has a great pen, he would not be on this stage if nobody thought he couldn’t rap. It’s his delivery that comes into play which will determine how far he can go.
As for what’s next with Sno, we don’t know. One of the well known media outlets for battle rap, ThatShitisHotSunlive was the only one to catch an interview from him and he pretty much summed up what surf said earlier.

With two more battles left, Smack and the team have indirectly created a 7 part video book for every single up and coming battle rapper to study. 2015 is shaping up to be the foundation of the industry economically, as Smack sold out two events; NOME 5 (which sold out recently) and Rookies vs Vets.
Hopefully Real Deal can receive his well deserved shot at a Summer Madness or a NOME stage.
We have Charlie Clips vs T-Top up next so stay tuned for that.
NOME 5 prediction coming soon as well.
