Fans and friends alike mourn the loss of battle rapper Tech 9.
Born Akeem Mickens, Tech 9 proved to be a force in the battle rap world. Fellow battle rapper and friend of Mickens, Buttah Madison broke the news in a Facebook post.
Known for his prominence in the battle rap scene, many rappers including Kendrick Lamar and Lupe Fiasco take to social media to celebrate the life of Mickens.

An official cause of death has yet to be determined. XXL reports “Unfortunately we haven’t fully figured the cause of death. We are praying that it was natural causes. He had no signs of harm done to his body.” says Butta Madison.
Tech 9 passed at age 32.
