2017 XXL Freshman, Ugly God, is back with his sophomore project. His latest effort is called Bumps & Bruises. The seventeen track project highlights Ugly God’s talents and only features two artists, Wintertime and Takeoff.
In 2019, Ugly God will look to improve upon his 2017 debut project, The Booty Tape. The Booty Tape featured his hit single “Water” and his collaboration with Wiz Khalifa. However, the Houston native is focused on building his fan base with this project and not necessarily first week sales.
Ugly God is clearly focused on setting himself up for future success with this project and connecting with his audience. During an appearance on Complex’s Everyday Struggle, the rapper was asked what a victory for him with this album would entail. Would it require him to sell a certain amount of copies? Nope. Ugly God said, “First week sales is some old school a** sh*t.” Instead, he feels that a success for him would be a great project that makes fans want to see him on tour and buy merchandise.
The time for talking is over. Bumps & Bruises is officially available on all streaming platforms. Check out his sophomore effort above and let us know what you think. Will it make you want to see Ugly God live?
