On Monday, May 5, 2025, Sean “Diddy” Combs will stand trial in New York after being charged with several crimes, including sex trafficking and racketeering. However, a recent statement from Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson suggests additional charges may be handed down in the following weeks and months.
Recently, Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily Johnson appeared at a brief hearing led by Judge Arun Subramanian. While discussing a series of discovery issues, John said, “Any additional charges will have little discovery information.”
Combs’ recent string of legal battles became public in November 2023 when his ex-girlfriend and singer, Cassie Ventura, filed a vicil lawsuit accusing the infamous mogul of rape, physical abuse and sex trafficking. Days later, Combs and Ventura settled for an undisclosed amount. On September 16, 2024, he was arrested, detained and criminally charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.
“From at least 2008 through the present, COMBS led a criminal enterprise that existed to facilitate his abuse and exploitation of women, to protect his reputation, and to conceal his conduct. As part of that criminal enterprise, COMBS, along with other members and associates of the enterprise, committed crimes including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice,” a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York.
Since then, he has been denied bail multiple times and will remain at Metropolitan Detention Center until he stands trial in May. Combs has plead not guilty to the charges levied against him.
