Former President Donald Trump has reportedly expressed support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s military operations in recent weeks. According to Isaac Arnsdorf, Josh Dawsey, John Hudson and Michael Birnbaum of the Washington Post, Trump has publicly spoken about two conversations he has had with Netanyahu recently. During one conversation, Trump reportedly told Netanyahu, “Do what you have to do.”
Israel’s armed forces have been extremely active. Within the last month, Israel’s armed forces have crossed into Lebanon, concealed explosives inside batteries of pagers sold to Hezbollah, launched airstrikes on Iran and continued to bomb Gaza. Trump reportedly told Netanyahu that he was “impressed” by some of their military operations,
“He didn’t tell him what to do militarily, but he expressed that he was impressed by the pagers,” Senator Lindsey Graham said.
“He expressed his awe for their military operations and what they have done.”
Meanwhile, Netanyahu has been less at the forefront in talking about his relationship with Trump. However, Trump continues to argue that if he is elected he will “fix the mess Kamala and Biden’s policies created.”
“Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, there was historic peace in the Middle East,” Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said.
“When President Trump is back in the Oval Office, he will fix the mess Kamala and Biden’s policies created. Israel will once again be protected, Iran will go back to being broke, terrorists will be hunted down, and the bloodshed will end.”
