The Washington Wizards found out last night that they lost out to Al Horford to the Boston Celtics, but fear no more, Tomas Satoransky is on his way. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Wizards have signed their 32nd pick in the 2012 NBA Draft:
European Tomas Satoransky, a 6-foot-7 guard, has agreed to a three-year, $9 million deal with the Washington Wizards, league sources told The Vertical.
Satoransky, 24, the 32nd overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft, will join the Wizards after seven seasons in the Spanish ACB League. He’s a long, athletic point guard with terrific vision and the ability to play off the ball.
Satoransky, a native of Prague, has played the past two seasons in Barcelona.
The Wizards have signed european Shaun Livingston. They acquired Trey Burke today in a steal of a trade for a 2nd round pick, so Satoransky will likely be a development project, rather than back-up to John Wall. In his last 2 seasons with Barcelona, he averaged 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, shooting 55% overall from the field. The Wizards bench is shaping into something that can definitely help them improve after missing the NBA playoffs last year.
